Blog picture

I’ve been asked why I use the picture for the heading of my blog and not the heading from my website.

When I saw the picture of a person, man or woman – it doesn’t matter, walking alone down a lane, I immediately thought of the path of life.

The path is bathed in sunshine and shade, representing the light and dark of life’s journey. The person is alone – we may have family, friends, acquaintances, business associates, but ultimately we go through life on our own. Nobody else knows what we are feeling or thinking, our thoughts are our own unless we choose to share them. Our decisions are our own, we may ask for advice, we may be influenced, but in the end we make our own choices.

The person is alone, but that doesn’t mean they are lonely. There are times when we want to be on our own, to read a good book, watch a movie, to enjoy nature, or just to contemplate.

When you go through a health battle, you generally have support from family and friends, but ultimately, it is you who has to have the will and determination to survive.

YOU are the most important person, in your life. You need to look after yourself otherwise you can’t look after the people who are important to you, and that is not acceptable.

Be good to you!

You are so right! Why do we forget this sometimes? I love this picture too! It’s so peaceful. Thanks for putting things back into perspective.

  2. I love the picture and personally I don’t even think it needs an explanation-it looks peaceful and quiet, something we all need in our busy tumultious lives!
